Nova Weetman & Emily Gale

Nova Weetman has published 18 books for children and young adults, including: Outlaw Girls (with Emily Gale), Sick Bay, The Edge of Thirteen and The Jammer. Nova’s books have been CBCA Notables, shortlisted for the Readings Children’s Prize, Japan’s Sakura Medal, the NSW Premier’s History Prize and more. She won the ABIA Award for Best Children’s Book Small Publisher in 2021. Nova writes regularly for The Age and The Guardian. Her adult memoir, Love, Death & Other Scenes was released in April 2024. Nova is a regular on ABC Radio Melbourne talking about historic children’s books in Australia.

Emily Gale’s books include The Goodbye Year, for which she won the NSW Premier's History Award, The Other Side of Summer and its companion novel I Am Out with Lanterns, the Eliza Boom Diaries series, Steal My Sunshine and Girl, Aloud, as well as her middle-grade collaborations with friend and fellow author Nova Weetman, Elsewhere Girls and Outlaw Girls.
