The annual AlburyCity Short Story Award is open to entrants throughout Australia. Stories can be up to 3000 words.

The Barry Young River of Stories is a writing competition for Primary and Secondary school students who reside in the Albury Wodonga region. It has been brought to the region by the Albury Hume Rotary Club since 2003.
