Leigh Hobbs

Leigh Hobbs is an artist and author best known in Australia and the UK for the 23 children's books he has written and illustrated featuring his characters Old Tom, Mr Chicken, Horrible Harriet, Mr Badger, Fiona The Pig and the FREAKS in 4F. Old Tom was adapted into a popular animated TV series shown on the ABC while Mr Chicken was adapted for the stage by NIDA and Horrible Harriet for a production at The Sydney Opera House. Mr Chicken Goes To Paris has been a popular title at The Louvre Museum Bookshop in Paris for nearly ten years which seems apt as it was where Leigh first thought of Mr Chicken flying the coup so to speak. Leigh was Australian Children's Laureate in 2016/2017.
