After the Firewheel Tree, enter the garden bed and on your right, you will find the Illawarra Flame Tree (Brachychiton acerifolius) which has distinctive showy flame red flowers in summer and large green, maturing to black, boat-shaped fruits in autumn and winter. The Flame tree is an extremely adaptable tree and will grow rapidly if provided with ample water, well-drained soil, adequate nutrients and protection from frosts when young.

The Firewheel tree: "Hey, hey, this is my song, wooh! What’s your name again? I’m Brad, I’m a flame tree. I’ve got the best flowers, I got the best mates. Me and Sten we are the red hot fire brothers. We were planted here on the same day, we’re like tree twins. It’s the best being tree twins, because you think of the same stuff and always want to do the same things. Not like old Holly Wood over there, always telling us to stop playing Barnsey’s music. I don’t know why she doesn’t like it. It’s the best, yeah, wooh!"
