If you have long loved the Stereo Stories show at Write Around the Murray, this workshop is for you.
How do songs evoke memories? And how do you write about those memories? Join Stereo Stories director Vin Maskell for a workshop that will take you through the essence of micro memoir writing (up to 1000 words). Look at techniques for triggering memories and emotions, the pitfalls (and positives) of memoir writing and writing strategies. Discussion and practical exercises will help you mine emotional depths and determine the story structure needed to bring your memoir alive. There will be a strong focus on writing Stereo Stories – short pieces evoking a song, a place, a time.
This event is supported by Regional Arts Fund NSW.
