How do authors and illustrators collaborate to make our favourite picture books? Do the words come first or the pictures? Does the author tell the illustrator what to draw? Who gets paid more? Tania Ingram and Lucinda Gifford co-created Bug Book and between them have published countless additional picture book titles for kids. They talk to Eleanor Pearson about the unique (and surprising) process of publishing children’s picture books.
