This year marks Write Around the Murray’s 20th festival. Our longevity is largely due to the fact that we believe that stories are for everyone – even if you’re too young to read, you can’t afford to buy anything or you just don’t like books.
To celebrate Write Around the Murray 2026, we will hear from disability advocate and social commentator Carly Findlay on the importance of representation in art and culture. Carly will be followed by children’s author Adrian Beck, talking about why it is essential to encourage a love of stories in kids, especially those who might struggle with reading.
