The beloved WAM Poetry Slam returns for another year. Share your words for two minutes on the mic and you could be chosen as the 2026 Australian Poetry Slam-bassador and offered an international writers’ festival tour worth about $20,000.
The WAM Slam is one of the official APS Heats which means the audience will select two writers from the WAM Slam to represent Albury Wodonga in a performance at the Victoria State Final. The top 16 in the country make it to the National Final at Sydney Opera House on 25 October.
Hosted by spoken word artist John Englezos, who was a hit at last year’s WAM Slam, this promises to be a night of creative storytelling that will inspire and may even move you to tears.
Registrations from 6.30pm.
Content Warning: Some content may not be suitable for children. Performances may include strong language and/or adult themes.
