Ruth Davys is a proud Wiradjuri woman and ambassador for the Wiradjuri nation. She is the vision keeper of Wiradjuri language company, Giilangyaldhaanygalang, and a passionate educator. As a Cultural Advisor with Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service, Ruth works closely with local Elders to support community engagement and cultural understanding.
Ruth co-created the online, bi-lingual Wiradjuri and English puppet project, ‘Who? What? Where?’, designed to make learning language fun and entertaining. www.giilangyaldhaanygalang.com
Ruth also enjoys visually expressing the stories of her community and ancestors. Examples of her work include the permanent Yindyamarra Cultural Trail sculpture, Bogong Moth, and MAMA installations, On Country, and the story of the Bunyip in pressed metal.
