Andrew Whitehead

Andrew is a scrap metal artist who makes figurative sculptures for tiny towns across Australia. His medium is mainly old metal farm equipment and tools which he welds together to form unique dynamic creations. Andrew has over 28 public artworks across the east coast of Australia and has created many commissions for private collectors. Andrew runs three day practical scrap metal sculpture courses for up to nine students in June and October and will consider ‘”one on one” tuition if time and circumstances permit. His work has been featured in both national and international magazines as well as numerous newspapers, TV and radio interviews.

In March 20021 Andrew and 12 others were selected from over 7,000 applicants to compete in the Channel 10’s Making It. Andrew made it to the final six competitors but had to withdraw for health reasons. Andrew lives with his wife Daphne and four dogs on a farm in Urana, NSW.
