Cut and tear your way through a mix of books and magazines to create your very own new and original artworks. Make your own story: create a fanciful world, explore the surreal or lose yourself in flowers. Donna will also show you how to make a simple string journal to keep your work in. If time permits, you can make one of your own.

All materials are provided. You are also welcome to bring your own magazines and materials to work with. There will be a short break for lunch – please BYO.

Donna Caffrey is a participating artist in the exhibition From where I sit: Stories from within, on now at the LibraryMuseum. Her practice involves study and experimentations with paint, clay, collage, textiles and threads. “I am still chasing my art voice,” she says. “The tactile experience of clay; the tearing, cutting and laying of papers; the feel of fabric in my hand and of meditative stitching all take me to my ‘happy place’. Through these mediums I capture a time, a moment, images and feelings of a place and of my place in the world.”
