The Attachment is a collection of letters documenting a most unlikely friendship. The correspondence speaks of loves, losses, and of two lives lived with curiosity and appetite. What began with an admiring email from a reader to a writer went on to become a vital relationship for both writer and performer Ailsa Piper, and priest Tony Doherty.
Described as "the love-child of 84 Charing Cross Road and Tuesdays With Morrie,” The Attachment is by turns tender, thought-provoking, tragic and funny. One reader called it 'a demonstration of how to conduct a conversation and a friendship.’
Keeping their conversation alive over lunch, Ailsa and Tony will challenge, tease and encourage each other, and their audience, to wrestle with life’s big - and most delicate - questions.
