Radical Book Club will be opening their regularly scheduled Wednesday night session to the public, coinciding with the opening night of the Write Around the Murray Festival.
Anyone who has read Talkin’ Up to the White Woman (2000) by Aileen Moreton-Robinson is welcome to bring their copy along to engage in this month’s critical discussion.
Radical Book Club is the first book club devoted to radical reading hosted by MAMA. A cohort of radical readers meet monthly at the museum to reflect on selected titles that challenge conventions and norms embedded in society.
From Wiradjuri language interspersed throughout a novel, to explicit discussions about migration and decolonisation, and expositions of gender and disability experiences – the Radical Book Club provides an open platform for critical thinking and discussion around these themes.
