Event notes

Picnic:

  • Event price includes bike ride, author talk, lunch by Pinchos Catering, a glass of local wine/sparkling wine/craft beer/fruit spritzer by Vinbar.
  • Lunch is a gourmet baguette with seared lamb, pumpkin hummus, spanish onion, cherry tomatoes, mint, rocket
  • .
  • Dietary restrictions catered where indicated when booking:
    • Vegetarian: Smoked scamorza, tomato and hazelnut basil pesto baguette
    • Vegan and/or gluten free: gourmet salad boxes
  • Additional beverages may be purchased
  • BYO picnic rug
  • Participants wishing to attend the lunch and talk only can opt out of the bike ride when booking and arrive at Wonga Wetlands at 11.30am

Bike ride:

  • Noreuil Park is located at Wodonga Place, Albury, NSW.
  • Meet at the covered BBQ area at Noreuil Park. We will depart from here at 10.30am
  • A support vehicle is available to carry picnic blankets and packs from Noreuil to Wonga if needed
  • The bike ride takes approximately 30-40 mins as a group
  • The fully sealed pathway is largely flat terrain with one or two short hills
  • BYO bicycle, bike lock, helmet, water bottle, sunscreen, puncture kit etc
  • A first aid officer will accompany the ride and a support vehicle will be available if needed
  • There is bicycle parking close to the picnic area.

  • Participants wishing to opt out of the bike ride can do so when booking and can instead meet at Wonga Wetlands at 11.30am

Wonga Wetlands facilities & guidelines:

  • Wonga Wetlands is situated 7km west of Albury's CBD at 2377 Riverina Hwy, Splitters Creek, NSW
  • Exclusive bike parking and car parking areas have been set aside for event attendees
  • Maps and additional information, including a wet weather plan, will be supplied upon booking
  • Toilet facilities are available
  • Following the talk, participants will make their own way back to Albury
  • Note: the walking trails within Wonga Wetlands do not permit cycling
