Karen Ginnane is a Melbourne-based author for middle grade and young adult readers. She is the author of the Time Catchers duology, Tilt and When Souls Tear, historical fantasy adventures set in Victorian London and a parallel city.
Karen has been variously employed as a freelance copywriter, marketing director for Paramount Pictures in London, a grain weighbridge operator in rural WA, a swimming teacher, life model, deckhand in Chile, and an English teacher in Japan. She’s taught creative writing and bellydance, published short stories, and in 2020 she received a Varuna Creative Retreat Fellowship for When Souls Tear.
Karen uses the real world and history to explore themes of connection, found family, self-discovery, the importance of true friends and allies, truth-finding and how you use your time on this earth.
