The thirteenth Write Around the Murray Festival explores the humanising power of story.
In author talks and panel discussions, we examine the stories we tell about ourselves and others, and how stories shape our knowledge and ideas. Weaving between past and present, personal and cultural, we explore changing social landscapes, generational experience, freedom and oppression at home and afar, and the creative expression that offers a bridge to understanding ourselves, others and the increasingly complex world in which we live.
Guests include Jane Caro, Arnold Zable, Toni Jordan, Ben Doherty, Alison Lester, Steven Herrick, Alice Pung, Oliver Phommavanh, Amal Awad, Jacqueline Kent, Christian White, Jeanine Leane, Melanie Mununggurr-Williams and many more.
We can’t wait to share full program details, complete with exciting new events, a few quirky surprises, and the return of Festival favourites including Stereo Stories, the WAM Slam, and What We’re Reading with Jason Steger and guests.
Full details available when we release the program and open event bookings on Friday 2 August.
