For five days in September, Write Around the Murray (WAM) brings people together in Albury Wodonga for a festival of storytelling unlike anywhere else.

Since 2007 readers, writers, artists and storytellers, both high profile and emerging, have gathered in and around the architecturally stunning LibraryMuseum to share stories, ideas and skills as part of a diverse and invigorating program.

There is something for everyone with author talks and conversations, workshops, foodie events, exhibitions, a poetry slam, writing competitions, WAM4Kids children's events, a schools program, events by the Murray River, and our highly anticipated Saturday night celebration with authors and festival goers.

The Festival will be a little different in 2020 but we are committed to continuing our gathering and exchange in whatever ways we can. Learn more about plans for WAM 2020.

WAM is Australia's most welcoming literary festival

WAM is a treat for those who love sharing books, stories, conversations and ideas, and for those of you who want something just a little bit different. Here's what others have to say about WAM:

We love visitors

Write Around the Murray is of course the only reason you need to visit Albury during September. But if you'd like a few more enticements, Visit AlburyWodonga can give you the lowdown on our region's attractions, including accommodation, restaurants, suggested itineraries and answers to all your travel queries.
