Bruce Pascoe and Tony Birch have been excavating Aboriginal knowledge systems in the areas of agriculture, which Bruce writes about in Dark Emu, and climate change. They discuss the important recovery and regeneration of knowledges that challenge dominant narratives and systems, restore Indigenous identity and raise hope for Aboriginal beliefs and practices to be reflected in the modern age.
Tony Birch is currently the recipient of the Victoria University Bruce McGuinness Indigenous Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. Bruce Pascoe is the author of Dark Emu, Black Seeds: agriculture or accident? which won the 2016 NSW Premier's Book of the Year.
